As we come to the half way point of Lent, it’s a good time to reflect upon where you are with the traditional Lenten disciplines of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Last week during out parish mission, Fr. Bruce Maivelett, SJ, showed us how to develop our prayer lives using the time tested methods of Ignatian Spirituality.
This weekend, we have Deacons Bill Monahan, Steve Swope, Fred Molina, Fred Toca and Fr. Vic Galier visiting with us at all of the Masses to learn more about one of the hidden jewels of the Catholic Church, Catholic Relief Services.
Catholic Relief Services is the official international relief and development agency that assists the poor and vulnerable in 103 countries on behalf of the Catholic Community in the United States. Deacons Fred M., Bill, Steve, Fred K. and Fr. Vic are part of a national effort to raise awareness on behalf of poor overseas and to provide different opportunities for you to get involved in the work of CRS.
You may already be familiar with the Rice Bowls that we fill each Lent. If you looking for additional ways to be active during this Year of Mercy, our visitors from CRS provide you with the perfect opportunity to be merciful.
