Communion to the Sick
Volunteer to bring Holy Communion to the Sick and Assisted Living Facilities in our parish! In bringing Holy Communion to the sick, you minister to the whole person – body, mind, and soul – as you answer Jesus’ calls to visit the sick (Matthew 25:31-46). You must be certified as an Extraordinary Minister. Extraordinary Ministry training is offered through the liturgy department several times per year.
To get started, you need to complete a background check and attend VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training (click here for more information on VIRTUS) sign up for a 45-minute training Communion of the Sick training session after receiving certification as a EMHC. After visiting a facility or individual, volunteers complete a brief report. Click here to submit your visitation report.
