Help provide a Merry Christmas for up to 400 needy families in our parish and greater community. Families, groups and individuals can sponsor a small or large family.
This ministry honors and remembers parishioners on special occasions. Cards are sent to Senior Adults for birthdays, Valentines Day, Easter and Christmas. Get well cards and personal notes are sent to those experiencing health challenges. Bereavement cards and personal notes are sent to families of the deceased as well. Volunteers always welcome.
The Career Ministry assists parishioners of all ages seeking new employment opportunities. Services include finding vocational direction, developing a job search strategy, resume writing, interviewing skills, and salary negotiation strategies.
COMMUNION TO THE SICK
Volunteer to bring Holy Communion to the sick at Piedmont Hospital, Shepherd Center, Assisted Living Facilities, or to private homes in our parish! In bringing Holy Communion to the Sick, you minister to the whole person – body, mind, and soul – as you answer Jesus’ calls to visit the sick.
If you would like to ‘Adopt a Grandparent’ or be a ‘CTK Buddy’ for a parishioner without family, you can volunteer just one hour a week; day or evening, weekday or weekend. VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training is required.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Each year the Christ the King and Habitat for Humanity work in partnership as agents of God’s justice by working to provide a clean, safe affordable home to a family with limited financial means.
FUNERAL RECEPTION TEAM
Join the team that offers a place for families and friends to gather for fellowship, to share, reminisce and remember the life of their loved one and their happy times together.
KNITTING/ PRAYER SHAWL
Shawls and blankets are gifts given to those in need of comfort such as those dying, those who have lost a loved one, those going through a divorce, etc.
MUST SUMMER LUNCH MAKING
In June and July, we prepare over 2,000 lunches for hungry children in the Atlanta metro area.
The CTK Prayer Chain allows us to pray for our brothers and sisters when they are unable to pray for themselves or when they need our support to pray with them and for them. As a link in the prayer chain you will be one of many who will be praying for the spiritual, physical, emotional and financial needs of our parish community. ANYONE can join the CTK Prayer Chain!
Sponsors are a supportive friend for someone who has chosen to become a member of the Catholic Church. Sponsors are needed for the summer program (June - Aug) and full year (Sept - Easter).
RESPECT LIFE MINISTRY
The goal of this respect life ministry is to empower our parishioners to be champions of the intrinsic value of every life. We work with the Archdiocese Pro-Life Office to increase awareness of pro-life issues.
SANDWICH MAKING FOR SHELTERS
From November through March, we make sandwiches for the Shrine Shelter.
SNACK BAG MAKING
Each month Christ the King provides more than 200 snack bags to hungry individuals who come to our doors. Please help us feed the hungry by making snack bags or donating nonperishable, individual pull top cans of a main dish items (such as chili, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti, beef stew or ravioli) and juice or milk box drinks for the snack bags.
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY
We help our friends and neighbors by providing financial, material, educational and spiritual support to those in need regardless of background or faith and collaborates with other organizations to empower people to achieve self-sufficiency.
Stephen Ministry is a Christ-centered, confidential, one to one, listening ministry. Stephen Ministers are lay parishioners trained extensively in the skills of Christian care-giving and commissioned to minister to other parishioners whom are experiencing a personal crisis (divorce, job loss, depression, death, illness, etc.).
Every month, over 100 volunteers sign up to bake at least 2 dozen breakfast items or sweet treats and bring them to CTK for various ministry events.
