Shawls and blankets are gifts given to those in need of comfort such as those dying, those who have lost a loved one, those going through a divorce, etc. The Prayer Shawl/Blanket Ministry began in the New England area and spread during the 1990’s. At the Cathedral, a caring and giving group of men and women get together twice a month to knit or crochet shawls and blankets. Each session begins with a prayer for the person who will receive the shawl/blanket. Members work on projects at home between meetings. No Experience Necessary–just a caring and giving heart. Volunteers are always welcome to join this wonderful ministry!
