MUST Summer Lunch Program

The MUST Ministries Summer Lunch Program provides nutritious lunches each summer to thousands of children in the metro Atlanta area. For many children, summer vacation begins a period of food insecurity. Many children are uncertain when they will receive a meal because their primary food resource, the school cafeteria, is closed.

Our MUST Summer Lunch Program will run on the following dates:

June 3, June 17, July 8 and July 22

Here are the ways you will be able to help us feed children in need this summer:

1. Make a monetary gift here

2. Volunteer to assemble lunches and/or grocery bags SIGN UP COMING SOON

3. Volunteer to deliver items to our MUST collection site SIGN UP COMING SOON

4. Donate the following items to help support our lunch making efforts:

  • 8 oz. Bottles of  Water
  • Juice Boxes

Deliver donated items to the plaza between 8 am – 10 am on the following dates: June 3, June 17, July 8 and July 22.

History of the Lunch Program at CTK

CTK parishioner Carol Hunt was instrumental in beginning the program at MUST Ministries over 20 years ago.   CTK parishioners Betsy Orr and Kathleen Swann began the Cathedral’s inaugural participation with 200 lunches made in their basements.  The next summer, they spearheaded our parish making almost 2,000 lunches. We now provide close to 10,000 meals each summer!
Summer 2025 will mark the Cathedral’s 17th year of participation in the MUST Summer Lunch Program.  Providing 1,250 lunches each week costs $3,000 a week for each of the 8 weeks of June and July. Your generosity is appreciated.
